Sensei Steven Gillibrand

Sensei Steven’s karate journey began in 2004 at the age of 20 at Kobushi Karate Club in Bamber Bridge, Preston. The club was affiliated with ESKA (Amateur Martial Arts) at the time. Known for his respectful demeanor towards instructors and fellow students, Sensei Steven diligently trained, earning his Shodan in March 2008 and Nidan in March 2010.

When the club switched affiliation to SKKIF in 2023, Sensei Steven revalidated his Nidan under Renshi Ray Wilkin’s instruction. He particularly enjoys training with SKKIF’s Japanese instructors and finds Sochin to be his favorite kata, appreciating how its techniques flow seamlessly together.
